Brazil modernizes its industrial property system: through Portaria GM/MDIC No. 110/2025, the INPI updates fees and automates key processes.
As of September 20, 2025, the grant fee—which includes the first ten years of validity and the registration certificate—will be included in the trademark application fee. No additional payment will be required, as issuance will be automatic and free of charge.
For patents and addition certificates, a similar automated processing system is being implemented, also at no additional cost, although in some versions it may be applied from December 2025.
The objective is clear: to avoid the loss of rights due to forgotten payments, reduce bureaucracy, and speed up the registration process.
In addition, an inclusive approach is maintained with discounts and exemptions for vulnerable or strategic profiles.
